Dental Implants
Dental Implants are probably the greatest advancement in dentistry since they came to market in the 1980s. Along with another recent technological breakthrough, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), dental implants can be placed less invasively and with more accuracy. Modern implant technologies mean less healing time and easier procedures. We use 3D printed guides to make the actual procedure time much shorter and with a more precise placement.
Dental implants can be used for various reasons. Dental implants can replace a single missing tooth. For instance a patient who lost her front tooth playing basketball would be an excellent candidate for a dental implant. Dental implants can also be used to replace multiple teeth at a time. If a patient has an old bridge that needs to be removed dental implants can be used to replace 2 or more teeth.
Dental implants can also be used to make dentures more retentive. A conventional full denture can be modified to snap onto 2 or more implants. These implant overdentures are affordable and provide an unbelievable improvement in chewing, comfort, and quality of life. Implant overdentures are taken out by the patient every night for cleaning and then snapped back on in the morning. If a patient desires a denture that is not removable then a fixed hybrid prosthesis is made. A fixed hybrid prosthesis has smaller extensions than a conventional denture and does not need acrylic to cover the roof of the mouth. Fixed hybrid prostheses require at minimum 4 implants and can only be removed by the dentist.
"I was recommended to see Pearl Dental Care. I lost all my teeth as a result of radiation and
Chemo treatments back in 1996. I had dentures made by another dentist. In 2003 they gave
me so much pain that I never used them. Fast forward to 2015 and Dr Pearl took X-rays and said
I was a good candidate for Implants. 3 years later I have a full set of teeth. They look great and I
Have no pain, finally. Dr Pearl and his staff are so great and caring that I actually looked forward to my many visits over the last 3 years. The Office is spotless and very comfortable. I highly recommend Pearl dental for all your dental needs."- Pete G.
